The Beach

 

 

 

 

Good thing we're from Maine because it was slightly chilly down on the beach. Saturday was rainy so we spent the afternoon at the indoor pool and lazy river but today was sunny allowing for some time at the beach. Surprisingly, none of my children attempted to swim. Ally's mission was to find a sharks tooth but instead ended up with some prize shells.

Aren't they cute?!Hardly looks like they just ran 26.2 miles (and did I mention that it rained for most of it!!).

We're back from our mini-vacation to Myrtle Beach to watch Greg and Danielle run in their first ever marathon. They made it look easy despite the pouring rain. I'd describe them as minimally sore at the moment and not complaining nearly as much as they should be! In just 4 hours they crossed the finish line with huge smiles on their faces.

What's In Your Bed?

 

Doesn't everyone sleep with a basketball?? This boy is obsessed. I couldn't begin to count how many times a day I hear Bryce say "basketball". Along with his trusty Pooh Bear, he now sleeps with his basketball too (although in this picture he has his soccer ball). I love how his little arm is wrapped around it. If anyone, and by anyone I mean his sisters, tries to touch his basketball he yells "hey"!

Our weekend was pretty much spent going from one sporting event to the next. I think that was Brent's intent when he took this job. We started at Alexa's first day of basketball practice. That was about the cutest thing I've seen in awhile. They went from station to station assisted by the local high school players and then did some running drills at the end. After we went to the University to watching a swimming/diving meet and then indoor track and field. Today we attempted a women's basketball game only to find out I read the schedule wrong and it was actually away. Oh well, we went for nice walk instead.

Welcome Home Greg!

I've always been proud of my little brother but never so much as now! He's finally home after serving our country in Iraq for the past year. The 130 members of his until flew more than 3000 hours and evacuated more than 670 patients. We're incredibly thankful that they're all home safe and sound. Greg, I hope you enjoy your time catching up with Danielle, family and friends. Relax and take a well deserved vacation for awhile. Can't wait to see you in February!
