News From Iraq
My brother John just called from Iraq. He sounded good. Working long hours but found some time to play soccer with nearby kids! Love you John!
School Halloween Party
Alexa, Bryce and I stopped by Ally's classroom Halloween party today. The students were allowed to dress as a book character. Ally was Fern from "Charlotte's Web". It was a very cute party. We are fortunate that Ally has such a great teacher and school.

Feeling Better
Turns out Alexa had mono. She's feeling much better but still not 100% her self. Here's a picture of her this afternoon napping (which never happens unless she's sick).

Sick Little Girl
Alexa has been really sick for well over a week now- fever over 104, ear pain and all over aches. The doctor has had a difficult time making a diagnosis but is fairly confident it's just a really nasty virus. Poor kid endured 3 shots and 2 blood tests. As of today she's finally looking better. I'm hoping this proof- she helped me bake cookies and then enjoyed the fruits of her labor!

Sunday Walk
We took a little walk around our neighborhood this afternoon and happened to spot several hot air balloons, a swan and what Brent thinks is a dog/wolf combination(didn't get a picture of him though as he ran by too fast). You can see from the picture of Ally at the lake what the water situation is like here. Crazy to think that there are people who spend millions of dollars to live on "the lake" and this is pretty much the view they have. Makes me miss our crystal clear Maine lakes with sparkling water and sand!

Camp Fire
Considering it hasn't rained in months, this may not have been our best decision, but the kids were thrilled to have a camp fire. Since it's so incredibly dry here, Captain Safety (Brent) was worried about torching the neighborhood but it turned out just fine! Not surprisingly, Alexa ate half her body weight in marshmallows!
Pumpkin Patch
We headed to a local Farm on Sunday afternoon for some fall fun (it ended up not feeling too fallish with the temperature around 82)but that's the south for you!
